I love this piece. My first attempt at an animal and very pleased with the result. She’s an old warrior still wildly protective of her cubs and an expert hunter but she’s getting old and with one snapped incisor starvation is a constant worry for her and her cubs. She’s mounted on welsh green slate with a piece of driftwood. This all sits on a board which is acrylic’d blue/green/grey to give the impression of the cold estuary where she hunts for salmon for her cubs
She has a wary look and given that (even thin and aged as she is) she is the top of her food chain one is left to assume that the predator that scares her here is human.
